Corey Fox, Head Coach

Corey Fox enters his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Lady Saints, The Lady Saints are coming off of their best season under Fox’s tutelage. The Limestone College Lady Saints finished 2005/2006 with a 12-17 record overall, and an 8-12 record in the CVAC. The Lady Saints tripled their win total from the previous season. A 2002 graduate of Limestone College, Fox took over the Head Coaching duties fulltime in 2004/2005.

Fox holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Limestone College. He played collegiately at Danville Area Community College and then Western Illinois before transferring to Limestone for his senior season. Fox helped DACC to a top-ten national ranking as a freshman, and was named All-American in his sophomore campaign while leading his team to a national runner-up finish.

In one season at Limestone, Fox set single season records for assists, 3-pointers, 3-point percentage, and free throw percentage.

Fox served as an assistant coach for head men’s coach Larry Epperly for three seasons. Among the highlights from his first three seasons with the Lady Saints is a 71-64 overtime win over Erskine College at home in his first game at the helm. In 2005-2006 the Lady Saints had several memorable wins including a 72-71 victory over nationally ranked Bentley College, and a huge 70-66 victory over Lees-McRae College at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, The Lady Saints also defeated Coker College in the first round of the CVAC conference tournament.

Melissa DeVore, Assistant Coach

Melissa DeVore joined the Lady Saints staff after a highly successful two year playing career at Limestone. DeVore was named Second-Team All-CVAC her senior season after averaging 15.8 points per game. She also tallied 170 assists. DeVore ranks fourth on Limestone’s all time list.

Prior to playing at Limestone, DeVore was a two-time MVP at Danville Area Community College. While at DACC, she was named First Team All-CCCI, and earned CCCI MVP honors while leading the conference in assists and steals.

Shawn Poppie, Assistant Coach

Shawn Poppie is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Lady Saints. Poppie had four standout seasons for the Saints men’s basketball team from 2003-2007.
While playing for the men’s team, Poppie earned All-Conference honors twice, and set a new Limestone record for single season and career assists. He ranked fifth in NCAA Division II with 6.8 assists per game as a senior.

Poppie earned his degree in sports management from Limestone College in 2007.
