Scott Tucker, Head Coach

Scott Tucker enters his seventh year at the helm of the Limestone women's lacrosse team. He currently holds a Limestone record of 72-27 (.727) and a career record of 93-39(.705). Tucker is on track to earn his 100 career victory in 2008.

In his six years as Limestone’s head coach, the Saints have produced four consecutive regular season Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference championships, one conference tournament championship (2006) and two NCAA tournament semifinal appearances (2004 and 2006). The Lady Saints have been ranked in the top ten each of Tucker’s six years at Limestone while breaking numerous program records. Limestone was tabbed the most improved team in Division II in his second season at Limestone, going from a 7-6 record in 2002 to a 12-3 record in 2003. That year, Tucker was a nominated for National Coach of the year for those accomplishments.

Tucker earned CVAC Coach of the Year honors in 2004 and 2006 and was named Inside Lacrosse Division II National Coach of the Year in 2006.

In his eight years as a head coach, Tucker has produced 11 different All-Americans, 16 different All-Region players, 17 different All-Conference players, as well as four Freshmen of the Year.

Prior to Limestone, Tucker spent two years as the head coach at Oswego State University. During those seasons, Tucker compiled a 21-11 record and two conference championship appearances. Tucker holds the Oswego State record for most wins in a season with 12 as well as most consecutive wins at nine.

Tucker currently serves on the Regional Advisory Committee and the North/ South Committee. He also serves as Director for NIKE Lacrosse camps that provide lacrosse camp opportunities around the country including Limestone College.

In addition to coaching, Tucker has played at various levels including the Senior B level in the Canadian Lacrosse Association from 98’-01’and is an active COC Lacrosse Official.

 
  Erin DeSantis, Assistant Coach

Erin DeSantis enters her second year as an assistant coach for the Lady Saints.

DeSantis, a former member of the Oneonta State University women’s lacrosse team, will expand her roles in the 2008 season as she will become the recruiting coordinator for the Lady Saints in addition to her current coaching duties. DeSantis helped Limestone to its fourth consecutive regular season championship in 2007.

Before coming to Limestone, DeSantis played four years in the SUNYAC conference as her team advanced to the conference championship two of her four years there.

She began her coaching career instructing at camps and clinics throughout New York State. Coach DeSantis serves as a director for the Baggataway Lacrosse Camps as well as instructs at numerous camp along the east coast. DeSantis was most recently employed by Health Links in Oneonta, N.Y., where she was responsible for developing and implementing specific fitness programs to meet clients’ needs

DeSantis graduated from Oneonta State in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in human ecology with a minor in health and wellness.

 
Mat Faas, Assistant Coach

Mat Faas enters his first year as an assistant coach for the Lady Saints. He comes to Limestone from St. Bonaventure University in New York.

Faas served as an assistant coach at St. Bonaventure for the 2006-07 season, where he coached six Atlantic 10 All-Conference players, including an Offensive Player of the Year and two All-Region players. In 2007, Faas helped the Bonnies finish third in the conference while making their second straight Atlantic 10 tournament appearance.

A 2003 Graduate of Nazareth College, Faas earned his Bachelor’s degree in political science while obtaining his teaching certification. Upon graduating from Nazareth College, he worked as a ninth grade global studies teacher while coaching high school basketball and lacrosse for three years.

A native of West Henrietta, N.Y., Faas has been involved in working various lacrosse camps and clinics throughout the country. He most recently coached the Under-19 Haudenosaunee women’s team at the 2007 World Championships held in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
