Kevin Vees, Head Coach

Kevin Vees completed his third season as head coach of the Limestone College Cross Country Program following the fall of 2007.  Both the men's and women's teams have experienced great success under Vees' guidance.  The men's team finished 7th in the conference and the women’s team finished 6th.  Both teams qualified for the Southeast Regional meet; with the men’s team placing 11th and the women’s team placing 12th.

Vees also produced three All-Conference runners this past fall for Limestone.  Junior Matt Conant finished in 7th place at the championship, running a 26:36 (8K) earning Second-Team All-Conference Carolinas honors becoming only the 3rd runner is the Saints’ history to accomplish this.  Alex Bonn and Molly Reichwald also made history for the women’s team by becoming the first All-Conference runners in the school’s history by finishing 5th and 12th respectively.  In the NCAA regional meet, Matt Conant finished 15th running a 33:56 (10K), becoming the school’s second All-Region runner.

Not only are the Saints making progress in running, they are also doing well in the classroom.  The men’s and women’s teams were named 2006 All-Academic Teams by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  The men’s team continued this honor in 2007 by finishing with the top GPA in the nation in Division II. Coach Vees has coached three Academic All-Americans, five All-Conference, and two All-Region runners in three short years as head coach.

Vees, who also serves as the Head Cross Country Coach at Limestone, graduated from Johnson & Wales University (Providence, R.I.) in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.  In December of 2007 he completed his Masters of Science in Sport Management Studies from California University of Pennsylvania.  He currently serves as the Southeast Regional Representative for the United State Track & Field, Cross Country Coaches Association.
