Jimmy Martin
Head Coach


Jimmy Martin is the winningest coach in the 30-year history of intercollegiate athletics at Limestone and is one of only two to have registered 400 or more wins at the College.  After taking 27 wins in 2007, his career record stands at 473-462.  The 2008 campaign will mark Martin's 19th at the helm oft he Saints' softball program, making him not only the longest tenured active coach at Limestone, but ranking him third among his fellow softball coaches in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference as well.

Martin was named the 2003 CVAC Softball Coach of the Year after guiding Limestone to a fourth place regular season finish in the highly competitive league.  He has also led the Lady Saints to the semifinals of the CVAC Tournament in two of the last three seasons.

Martin also serves as Associate Athletics Director for Facilities at the College. He has also served as Head Softball Coach, Head Volleyball Coach, and Assistant Basketball Coach during his tenure at Limestone.  He currently resides in Gaffney with his wife Beth.


Amy Yates
Assistant Coach

Amy Yates joined the Limestone coaching staff in the summer of 2007. She assists Head Coach Jimmy Martin in all aspects of the Lady Saints softball program. Yates had a very successful career with the Lady Saints as the team's shortstop from 2003-2006.

Yates spent the 2006-07 academic year as an assistant coach for Newberry College, where she helped the squad to their first winning season I several years. The Lady Indians also tied the school record for wins in a season with 34.

During her four-year career at Limestone, Yates earned All-Conference and conference All-Tournament team honors. She posted a career batting average of .373 and is included in several Limestone records. She holds the Lady Saints career record with 56 doubles.

 
Donnie Elliott
Assistant Coach

Donnie Elliot became an assistant softball coach at Limestone in 1990.  He has also had coaching experience with Spartanburg Methodist College.  He enjoyed a very successful playing career in fast-pitch softball that spanned 23 seasons.
