The athletic programs of Limestone College continue to excel on and off the field. Our 2006-2007 season produced stellar performance in several sports for both the men and women. The success of our athletics captured Limestone’s highest finish in the Joby Hawn Cup competition with second place, moving up from last year’s sixth place finish. In fact, it was the second straight year that Limestone athletics posted a personal best finish in this competition.

Limestone athletes continue to take their competitive spirit from the field and into the classroom. The Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference announced 107 Limestone student-athletes on the CVAC Presidential Honor Roll with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The number of students achieving the Presidential Honor Roll continues to grow with this year recognizing the largest number of athletes in the history of the award.

Our student-athletes don’t just get it done on the field and in the classroom. Every athlete at Limestone participated in some from of community service. Notably, all 18 squads helped Habitat for Humanity and they participated in the annual luminaries during Christmas on Campus. Additionally, the Lady Saints volleyball and softball teams participated in “Dig for a Cure” breast cancer awareness fund-raiser. We have some of the most community minded athletes you will find on any campus.

The Saints Club is proud to sponsor the athletic programs at Limestone College. Our membership continues to grow as do the corporate sponsors. With the help of our boosters we were able to install a first class scoreboard for the soccer/lacrosse field. We started a new chapter of the Saints Club for the students known as the Limestone Lunatics and in partnership with the Student Government Association the Saints co-sponsored the on-campus spring celebration and first ever fireworks display for the entire community.

Already we have seen new recruits committing to Limestone for the upcoming season and our coaches are working hard to bring more quality athletes to our program. With your continued support and our newest recruits, the Saints Club is looking forward to another award-winning year in Limestone Athletics.

GO SAINTS!
