LADY SAINTS SOCCER RELEASES FALL 2008 SCHEDULE |
GAFFNEY, S.C.—Limestone College head women’s soccer coach Tina Weaver has released the team’s fall 2008 schedule. Limestone faces a tough slate next season as the Lady Saints look towards the Conference Carolinas title. The Lady Saints will warm-up for regular season play with scrimmages against Gardner-Webb University (NCAA Division I) and Columbia College in August. Limestone travels to Pembroke, N.C., for its season opener against UNC-Pembroke on August 30 at 5 p.m. Limestone’s home opener is scheduled for September 10 against North Carolina Wesleyan at 2 p.m. at Saints Field. The Lady Saints will host the defending Conference Carolinas regular season champion, Belmont Abbey, on September 13 at 2 p.m. Limestone will also play Queens University, the defending conference champion, at Saints Field on September 27 at 12:15 p.m. “We were able to develop a schedule that is strong in opponents and at the same time optimistic for us as a team because there so much energy around campus about the upcoming season,” pointed out Weaver. “We will be on the road for the beginning part of the season but have more home games overall. This will help our team recognize and appreciate how important playing at home is, especially when we start conference play. Our first four games are very against very strong contenders and this will be great preparation for our first league match against Belmont Abbey. We are in for an exciting season!” |
