NO. 2 LADY SAINTS LACROSSE FLIES PAST PFEIFFER, 15-7

MISENHEIMER, N.C.—The No. 2 Limestone College women’s lacrosse team flew past Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon with a 15-7 victory. Limestone remains perfect in conference play with a 9-0 league record (12-1 overall) as the Falcons stand at 4-5 in league play (7-8 overall).

The Lady Saints led 7-2 at the half and outscored the Falcons 8-5 in the second. Limestone dominated on shots 37-17. Each team won 12 draw controls, and Limestone had the edge on ground balls, 10-8. The Lady Saints were 14-14 on clears while Pfeiffer was 9-14.

Limestone’s Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.), Katie Ilott (Whitby, Ontario, Canada), and Chrissy Grogg (Taberg, N.Y.) each recorded at hat trick. Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) had two goals, while Marissa Pesce (West Babylon, N.Y.), Melissa Howard (Ferndale, Md.), Dani Tosky (Bluffton, S.C.), and Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.) had one goal apiece. Howard tallied an assist.

Summer Ferraro (East Setauket, N.Y.) had four ground balls for Limestone, and Ilott led the team with three draw controls. Erin Cavanaugh (Ellicott City, Md.) posted eight saves in goal.

Limestone hosts St. Andrews on Tuesday at Saints Field in its final game before the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The Lady Saints and Knights will square off at 4 p.m.
