LADY SAINTS GOLF TAKES 4TH AT ST. ANDREWS SPRING INVITATIONAL |
PINEHURST, N.C.—The Limestone College women’s golf team carded a two-day score of 692 (353-339) to take fourth in the 11-team field at the St. Andrews Spring Invitational on March 3-4. The tournament, hosted by St. Andrews Presbyterian College, was played at the par-72, 5943-yard Woodlake Resort and Golf Club. Katie Clayton (Lyman, S.C.) had a two-day score of 162 (83-79) to finish sixth. Ansley Smith (Blythewood, S.C.) tied for 17th with 171 (88-83), and Miranda Van Arsdale (Hendersonville, N.C.) took 24th with 176 (87-89). Samantha Allison (Jeanette, Pa.) was 31st (95-88 183). Pfeiffer University won the team title by 33 strokes with a 36-hole total of 639. Pfeiffer’s top-four scorers all finished in the top-10 en route to the victory. Saint Leo University and Newberry College tied for second place out of 11 teams with team totals of 672. Conference Carolinas members Limestone College (692) and Anderson University (697) finished fourth and fifth. The University of Montreal (702) placed sixth; Mount Olive College (706) placed seventh, one stroke ahead of the eighth place finisher, The Citadel (707). UNC Pembroke (736), St. Mary’s College (742), and Hollins University (923) rounded out the competition in ninth to 11th place, respectively. Limestone heads to the Chick-fil-A Invitational on March 16-18 in Salisbury, N.C.
