JORDENS PARTICIPATES IN SOUTH AFRICA OLYMPIC TRIALS |
In the 50 free, Jordens posted a time of 23.69 in the prelims for 12th place, and qualified for the semifinals. In the semifinals, he finished 13th with a time of 23.61 In the 100 free, Jordens had a time of 52.47 in the prelims for 13th place, which qualified him for the semifinals. In the semifinals, he took 12th with a time of 52.38 “We are very proud of Craig’s swimming at the South Africa Olympic Trials,” said Limestone Head Swim Coach Allen Gilchrest. “This was an amazing experience for Craig. He has shown great maturity and focus in his swimming. To finish in the top 16 at the South Africa Olympic trials is a great accomplishment, especially for a 19-year-old.” On March 12-15, 2008, Jordens participated in the NCAA Division II National Championships with the Limestone College Swim team in Columbia, Mo. The men’s team finished ninth overall in the country for NCAA Division II. Jordens was also the lead off swimmer of the Men’s 200 freestyle relay that took first and tied the national record in a time of 1:20.69 Jordens is a six-time NCAA All-American as he finished in the top 16 in 6 events.
