LIMESTONE RESULTS FROM DAY 3 OF NCAA DIVISION II SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS |
COLUMBIA, Mo.—The Limestone College swimmers continued competition at the 2008 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday. Donna Wickham (Tacarigua, Trinidad & Tobago) and Linvern Lim (Port Dixon, Malaysia) each had a top 10 finish in the day’s finals. Wickham was seventh in the women’s 100 backstroke finals with a time of 57.25. Lim was seventh in the 100 backstroke, and his time of 50.03 set a new school record and a new Bluegrass Mountain Conference open record. Goran Majlat (Split, Croatia) was 13th (50.64) in the same event. Chad McKenzie (Durban, South Africa) took 13th in the 100 breaststroke (57.22) and Matt Parsonage (Durban, South Africa) was 15th (57.37). In the preliminary rounds, Wickham finished third in the women’s 100 backstroke with her time of 56.64, which also set a new school record and a new Bluegrass Mountain Conference open record. Majlat was 13th in the men’s 100 backstroke (50.83.) Lim set a new school record in the 100 backstroke (50.26) for sixth place. Anders Melin (Karlstad, Sweden) finished 23rd in the 100 backstroke (51.49). McKenzie finished 12th in the 100 breaststroke (57.11), which set a new Limestone record, and Parsonage took 14th (57.49). Parsonage was 21st in the 200 butterfly (2:02.03). Zeljko Karaman (Split, Croatia), Lim, Chris Harrigan (Greenville, S.C.), and McKenzie placed 18th in the 800 freestyle relay (7:08.99). The 2008 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, co-hosted by the Missouri University of Science and Technology and the University of Missouri, is being held at the Mizzou Aquatics Center. |
