SAINT GOLFERS CONCLUDE PLAY AT NCAA REGIONAL |
MOORESVILLE, N.C.—Saint golfers Brad Williams and Craig Parris finished competition at the three-round NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional on Wednesday at the par-72 Point Lake Golf Club. Williams finished tied for 18th while Parris tied for 34th. Williams carded 231 (81-77-73). Parris had a three-round score of 241 (78-81-82). The top team from each region within the Atlantic/Southeast super regional and the top individual not with a team from each super regional (regardless of region) advanced to the finals May 14-17 at the Division II Spring National Championships Festival in Houston, Texas. The finals will be hosted by Rice University and the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority. Brad Robinson of Carson-Newman was the individual qualifier from the Atlantic/Southeast super regional with a three-round score of 213 (71-72-70). He finished second in the Southeast region. Belmont Abbey won the Atlantic region team competition with a final score of 889. Barton College (904) was second, followed by Anderson (909), Mount Olive (917), and Coker (918). Fayetteville State (930) was sixth, while Pfeiffer (938) was seventh and Virginia State (964) was eighth. Ten additional teams will earn berths to the finals. These teams will be determined based on the previous three-year average of top-10 finishes of a super regional at the finals.
