PARRIS AND WILLIAMS COMPLETE ROUND 1 OF ATLANTIC REGIONAL |
MOORESVILLE, N.C.—Limestone College’s Craig Parris and Brad Williams completed round one of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional on Monday. Parris and Williams are competing as individuals at the tournament, held at the par-72 Lake and Point Golf Club. Parris is tied for 21st place after scoring 78 on day one. Williams is tied for 34th with 81. Belmont Abbey holds a nine shot lead after posting a team score of 294. Sophomore Connor Tomlinson posted the low round of the day in the region, with a two-under-par 70. He posted four birdies and an eagle on the par five 12th hole. The Abbey holds a nine-shot lead over Anderson, who posted a team score of 303. Coker is third with a score of 306. Barton is in sole possession of fourth place (307). Mount Olive and Fayetteville State are tied for fifth with scores of 311. Pfeiffer (313) and Virginia State (321 round out the Atlantic Region. The second round of the Atlantic/Southeast Regional gets underway tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. with starts on the first and tenth tees. The winners of the regional, and the next three lowest scores, regardless of region, advance to the NCAA National Championships in Houston, Texas, next week.
