DOUGLASS SIGNS WITH LIMESTONE |
Douglass comes to the Saints from Santa Fe Community College where he played his freshman season. He helped the team to the conference championship, a 21-6 overall record, and a 10-0 league record. He averaged eight points and six rebounds per game while shooting 54% from the field in his first season of college ball. Douglass is no stranger to Limestone Head Coach Brandon Scott’s system as Scott coached Douglass as a sophomore and junior at Leesburg High School before taking a position at Limestone. In high school, Douglass earned First-Team All-Area, First-Team All-District, Third-Team All-State, and team MVP honors. He averaged 20 points per game, 13 rebounds per game, and 4 assists per game during his high school career. “Jarrell is a great sign for us,” stated Limestone Head Coach Brandon Scott. “He is a great scorer and is tremendous on the boards on both ends of the floor. He is extremely skilled with the basketball and is very tough. He can beat you in a lot of ways and we cannot wait to get him on the court. He is a guy that is going to make us better and I am very thrilled to make him a part of our basketball family.” Douglass will sit out next season, but will take to the court in the fall of 2009. He is originally from Akron, Ohio, and will major in criminal justice at Limestone. |
