LIMESTONE’S CLAYTON AND WILLIAMS NAMED TO CONFERENCE CAROLINAS GOLF ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS |
CLEMMONS, N.C.—Limestone College’s Katie Clayton (Lyman, S.C.) and Brad Williams (Elgin, S.C.) were named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference team. Clayton earned First Team honors on the women’s side, while Williams was a Second-Team honoree for the men. Clayton had a solid senior season. She carded a season-low 150 (78-72) to win the Tusculum Fall Classic. At the Lenoir-Rhyne Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, she posted a score of 148 (73-75) to tie for first, but placed second after a play-off. She was also the conference’s Golfer of the Month honors in October. Williams carded a season-low round score of 69 at the Tusculum Fall Classic and the Chick-Fil-A Intercollegiate. He posted his lowest two-round score of the season of 142 (69-73) to finish second at the Chick-Fil-A Intercollegiate, just one stroke behind the tournament's individual medalist. He finished sixth at the BMW Collegiate in March. The Conference Carolinas All-Conference Teams were determined by vote from each Head Coach of participating institutions. Nominations were collected and then voted upon by ballot and tallied to determine Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-Conference First Team, All-Conference Second Team and Honorable Mention Team. Awards were presented at the league golf team banquet at the Conference Tournament Championships co-hosted by Barton College and the Salem Glen Golf & Country Club in Clemons, N.C.
