LIMESTONE SPRINGS SPORTS HEAD TO CONFERENCE TOURNAMENTS THIS WEEKEND |
The Limestone baseball team (23-29 overall/10-14 conference), seeded #6 in the tournament, will face #3 Belmont Abbey on Thursday in Wilson, N.C. at 1 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday at Fleming Stadium. The baseball competition is hosted by Barton College. The men’s and women’s golf teams head to Clemmons, N.C., for the Conference Championship on April 20-22 at the Salem Glen Golf Club. The event is hosted by Barton College. The Lady Saints softball team enters the conference tournament as the #6 seed, finishing the regular season at 21-33 overall, 9-11 in the league. The Conference Carolinas tournament, which is hosted by Erskine College, will be played at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, S.C., beginning on Friday. The Lady Saints will play the #11 seeded Belmont Abbey in the first round at noon. The men’s and women’s tennis tournament is also hosted by Erskine College and will be played at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. The men’s tennis team will be a # 2 seed in the tournament, completing their season with a 14-7 record overall, 8-1 in conference play, with their only conference loss coming to top-seeded Anderson University. Their first match will be against the #7 seed Queens at noon. The women’s team will also be a #2 seed in the tournament finishing the regular season at 14-7 overall, 9-1 in the league, with their only conference loss coming to top-seeded Erskine College on Wednesday. Their first match will be against the #7 seed, Barton College, at 9 a.m. on Friday. Limestone College will host the semifinals and finals of the Conference Carolinas men’s and women’s lacrosse tournaments on April 18-20 at Saints Field in Gaffney. This is the fifth consecutive year Limestone has hosted the women’s event, and is the first time the College has been the site of the men’s competition. The men’s lacrosse tournament semifinal matches will be played on April 18. The first game of the day featuring the #1 Limestone and #4 St. Andrews at 11 a.m. The second semifinal match between #2 Queens and #3 Belmont Abbey will start at 2 p.m. The men’s lacrosse All-Conference awards will be presented in between Friday’s games. The championship game is slated for 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The first round of the women’s lacrosse tournament will be played on Thursday, April 17 with Pfeiffer hosting St. Andrews in Misenheimer, N.C. #3 Queens hosts #6 Lees-McRae in Charlotte on Thursday at 6 p.m. The women’s lacrosse semifinals will begin on Saturday. Limestone will face the winner of the #4 Pfeiffer/#5 St. Andrews game at 11:30 a.m., and #2 Belmont Abbey and the winner of the #3 Queens/#6 Lees-McRae will play at 2 p.m. The women’s All-Conference awards will be presented at the women’s lacrosse awards banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday night at Stephenson Dining Hall on Limestone’s campus. The championship games will take place on Sunday. The women’s championship is slated for noon and the men’s final will begin at 3 p.m. Both championship games will have a video webcast through ConferenceCarolinas.tv. The men’s April 18 semifinal game schedule for 11 a.m. and the women’s semifinal on April 19 at 11:30 a.m. will also be webcasted.
