LIMESTONE GETS 10-1 VICTORY OVER OHIO VALLEY |
Saint freshman Thomas Fekete (Aiken, S.C.) picked up his first collegiate win. He pitched the first seven innings, recorded five strikeouts, and allowed only five hits and one earned run. Marques Kyles (Spartanburg, S.C.) had two strikeouts in the eighth and allowed no hits, while Jordan Liette (Versailles, Ohio) had one strikeout and gave up no hits to close out the game. Zach Watkins (Albany, Ga.) was 3-5 at bat with 2 RBIs and 1 run scored. Adam McSwain (Fallston, N.C.) hit 2-3 with a 3-run homer. Watkins, McSwain, Matt Still (Moncks Corner, S.C.), A.J. Bsharah (East Kentwood, Mich.), and Josh Izokovic (Shelby, N.C.) each hit doubles. Dylan Anthony (Lincolnton, N.C.) had two stolen bases. Sam Schmitt (Harrisburg, Pa.) took the loss after giving up four earned runs in the first four innings. Luke Nolan (Belpre, Ohio) pitched three innings and gave up five runs, and Kyle Lawrence (West Chester, Pa.) finished the game for Ohio Valley, only allowing one hit in the eighth. Ohio Valley scored its only run of the game in the third inning, as Jesse Young (Parkersburg, W.Va.) to score Josh Saavedra (Miami, Fla.). Limestone hosts St. Andrews this weekend for a three-game Conference Carolinas series. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 12 p.m., and Sunday's game will begin at 1 p.m. Ohio Valley travels to Clarksburg, W. Va., for a series against Salem University on March 8-9.
