The Limestone College men’s cross country team has the highest grade point average among NCAA Division II men’s cross country programs, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Saints post a cumulative team GPA of 3.63.
“This is a great accomplishment for our student-athletes,” said Limestone Head Cross Country Coach Kevin Vees. “Not only are they doing well in running, they are doing well in the classroom. I am very proud of them and I am sure they will continue their success in academics.”
Mansfield University was second on the list with a 3.62 GPA. Augustana College was third (3.56), the College of Saints Rose was fourth(3.54), and Christian Brothers University was fifth (3.51).
The Saints squad was named an All-Academic team earlier this month by the USTFCCCA.
