EDMOND, Okla.—The Limestone College wrestling team moved up two slots to No. 15 in the latest NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches’ Association poll. The Saints, who are off to their best start in program history with a 5-0 record, were previously ranked No. 17 in the preseason poll released in October. Two Limestone wrestlers are also nationally rated: Dan Scanlan (Leesburg, Va./184 lbs.) and Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C./285 lbs.).
Scanlan, who boasts a 10-1 record in the 184-pound weight class, entered the national rankings at No. 7. Moss held on to his No. 6 position. He is 6-3 so far this season against his heavyweight competitors.
Nebraska-Kearney holds the top spot in the poll, with Minnesota State-Mankato ranked second. Central Oklahoma is third, as Adams State and Pittsburgh-Johnstown round out the top five.
The Saints wrestling team will host the University of North Carolina-Pembroke and West Liberty State in its home opener on Saturday at the Timken Center. The first match is slated for 11 a.m.
