LIMESTONE WRESTLING GETS 40-7 WIN OVER KING ON SENIOR NIGHT

GAFFNEY, S.C.—The Limestone Saints wrestling team dominated for a 40-7 win over King College on Tuesday night at the Timken Center. With the victory, the Saints improve to 15-2-1 on the season. Tonight was also Senior Night for the Saints as the team recognized David Bush, Marquis Camp, Dusty Leutz, and Pat Seidel for their contributions to the team.

Limestone took the first two matches of the night after King forfeited at 125-pounds and 133-pounds. Kwinten Brown recorded King’s first victory over the night with a 13-7 decision at 141 lbs. to put the score at 12-3. The Tornadoes’ Shane Funk closed in on Limestone’s lead with a 15-4 major decision at 149 lbs. to put the score at 12-7.

The Saints dominated the remainder of the match. Mike Bush (Lakewoody, N.Y.) pinned his opponent in the 157-pound class, and Casey Bradley (Muncie, Ind.) got a technical fall at 165 lbs. Joby Schreckhise (Grottoes, Va./174 lbs.) and Dan Scanlan (Leesburg, Va.) also got major decisions for Limestone. David Bush (Lakewood, N.Y.) got a pin to win at 197-pounds, and Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C.) battled it out the heavyweight class to get a 5-2 victory.

Limestone travels to Jefferson City, Tenn., for the EdSouth Tournament hosted by Carson-Newman on Saturday, February 9.

David Bush
David Bush has been a starter for the Saints in 2007-08 after sitting out the 2006-07 season as a redshirt. So far this year he has over 20 wins. He attended Jamestown Community College before coming to Limestone and was a two-time national qualifier while earning the Coaches Award and All-Academic Honors. He was also a two-time New York Collegiate All-State place finisher. A native of Lakewood, N.Y., David is the son of Dave and Debbie Bush. He is a physical education major.

 

 

Marquis Camp
Marquis Camp joined the Saints after attending Spartanburg Methodist College where he was a national qualifier. He has been a member of the Limestone wrestling team since the fall of 2005. One of his career highlights was finishing fourth at the West Liberty tournament. He is the son of Sylvia and Richard Cue. From Gaffney, S.C., Marquis will graduate with a degree in physical education.

 

 

Dusty Leutz
Dusty Leutz has been with the Saints program since 2004 and has competed in the 149- and 157- pound weight classes. Wrestling at 149 pounds in 2007-08, he has wins against opponents from UNC-Pembroke and Cumberland University. Outside of regular season intercollegiate competition, Leutz has been successful in Greco roman wrestling, and finishing fourth at the University Nationals last summer, and qualifying for the Greco National Camp at U.S. Wrestling’s training facility in Colorado Sprigs, Colo. His parents are Kirk and Susan Leutz. A native of Naples, Fla., Dusty is majoring in biology education.

 

Pat Seidel
Pat Seidel of Port St. Lucie, Fla., joined Limestone in the fall of 2006. This season he has recorded 3 wins in the 133-pound weight class. Pat is the son of Maria and Gerald Seidel, His will graduate from Limestone with a degree in criminal justice.
