LIMESTONE WRESTLING GETS 3 WINS |
Limestone began the day with a 44-3 decision against Darton. Ian Barker (Summerville, S.C./125 lbs.), Brent Clausing (Miamisburg, Ohio/133 lbs.), Dustin Baynes (Liberty Twp., Ohio/149 lbs.), Mikel Bush (Lakewood, N.Y./157 lbs.), Casey Bradley (Muncie, Ind./165 lbs.), Joby Schreckhise (Grottoes, Va./174 lbs.), Dan Scanlan (Leesburg, Va./184 lbs.), David Bush (Lakewood, N.Y./197 lbs.) and Allen Runyon (Fort Mill, S.C./285 lbs.) all recorded wins. Jarrett Williams had Darton’s lone victory of the match in the 141-pound weight class. The Saints got off to a slow start against Carson-Newman as the Eagles built a 12-0 lead with wins at 125, 133, 141, and 149 pounds. Limestone began to gain momentum when Mikel Bush picked up a 10-0 major decision over Alex Cate (Knoxville, Tenn.) in the 157-pound division. The Saints continued to chip away at Carson-Newman's lead with decisions by Bradley at 165 lbs. and Schreckhise at 174 lbs. Scanlan put the Saints up 13-12 with a 9-3 decision at 184 lbs. against the Eagles' Landon Hall (Louisville, Tenn.). David Bush gave the Saints some breathing room with a major decision against Joshua Sprewell (Carrollton, Ga.) to put his team up 17-12. Heavyweight Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C.) secured the victory for Limestone as he defeated Tim Minwell (Clarksville, Tenn.) 7-2. Limestone also dominated its match against King College. Barker, Clausing, Riley Pike (Alexander City, Ala./141 lbs.), Baynes, Mikel Bush, Schreckhise, Scanlan, and David Bush all recorded wins for the Saints against the Tornadoes. JaVante Ashford (Roanoke, Va./165 lbs.) and Frankie Morgan (Maynardville, Tenn./285 lbs.) had wins for King. Limestone travels to the Midwest Invitational on January 4-5 in Indianapolis, Ind.
