SAINTS FINISH 8TH AT MIDWEST CLASSIC |
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The No. 15 Limestone College wrestling team finished 8th in a 21-team field which included eight other nationally-ranked teams at the Midwest Classic on Saturday. Adams State won the tournament hosted by the University of Indianapolis. Several Saints finished at the top of their weight classes. Dan Scanlan (Leesburg, Va.) was the runner-up in the 184-pound weight class after losing a close match in the championship round to Adams State’s Jared Deaguero, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation. Heavyweight Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C.) finished third after a 4-2 decision over Heidelberg’s Tony Carothers. Dave Bush (Lakewood, N.Y.) took fifth at 197-pounds with a pin against Pat Truster of Mount Saint Joseph. Casey Bradley (Muncie, Ind./164 lbs.) was sixth in his weight class and Joby Schreckhise (Grottoes, Va.) finished eighth in the 174-pound division. The No. 15-ranked Saints faced tough competition, including No. 4 Adams State, No. 10 Ashland, No. 12 University of Indianapolis, No. 9 Newberry, No. 19 University of Wisconsin-Parkside, No. 19 Central Missouri, No. 16 Findlay, and No. 20 Gannon and St. Cloud State.
