LIMESTONE WOMEN’S LACROSSE INKS 4 RECRUITS |
GAFFNEY, S.C.—Limestone College Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Scott Tucker has announced the signing of four recruits. Lauren Smith, Morgan Smith, Brigid Milchling, and Dana Wienckowksi will join the Lady Saints in 2008-09. “I am very excited about the additions to our program,” said Tucker. “Each player brings a unique quality to the program and we are confident that they can all make an immediate impact on the program.” Wienckowksi, a native of Hauppauge, N.Y., is a four-year letterwinner and starts at defense for Hauppauge High School, where she helped her team to a 14-6 record as a junior. She is undecided about her major. Her parents are Anne Marie and Matt Wienckowksi. Milchling is a goalkeeper for Notre Dame Preparatory School in Maryland. Her team finished the 2007 season ranked 15th out of 165 teams. She played on the varsity squad as a junior and senior. She also played club ball for the Ravens Lacrosse Club. Milchling plans to study athletic training at Limestone. She is the daughter of Gretchen and David Milchling of Cockeysville, Md. Sisters Lauren and Morgan Smith come to Limestone from Riverside High School in Greenville, S.C. Lauren was a four-year starter at attack and midfield for her team and was a 2006 and 2007 Lower Atlantic National Team Player. She earned Riverside High School’s 2007 Best Offensive Player Award and earned All-State honors last year. She is a team captain and also competes with the school’s golf team, where she was named All-Region in 2005. Morgan was also a four-year starter for the Warriors as a defender. She was a member of the 2007 Lower Atlantic National Team, and earned First-Team All-State honors in 2006 and 2007. She was named 2007 Team MVP and Honorable Mention All-American. She is team captain and also plays golf. Morgan and Lauren are the daughters of Paula and Jeff Smith, and both will major in sports management at Limestone. |
