LADY SAINTS LACROSSE RANKED NO. 3 IN IWLCA POLL

The Limestone College women’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 3 in the first Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association NCAA Division II poll of the 2008 season, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. The C.W. Post Pioneers, the reigning national champions, are ranked No. 1, as West Chester is No. 2.

The Pioneers are joined in the top-10 by conference rival Adelphi, who comes in at No. 5. Stonehill of the Northeast-10 is ranked No. 4. West Chester of the PSAC is joined by Lock Haven (No. 6), while the No. 3 Saints of Conference Carolinas are joined by league rivals Pfeiffer (No. 7) and Queens (No. 9). Gannon (No. 8) and Mercyhurst (No. 10) round out the poll.

Limestone and six other teams included in this week’s rankings compete in the South Region, while C.W. Post, Adelphi, and Stonehill represent the North Region.

The Lady Saints host conference-foe Belmont Abbey College s on Tuesday, February 26 at 3:30 p.m. in Gaffney, S.C.
