SWIM TEAMS HEADED TO FLORIDA

On January 2-8, 2008, the Limestone College men’s and women’s swimming teams are headed to the International Swimming Hall of Fame pool located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to participate in the 72nd Annual College Swimming Forum.

“Participating in the International Swimming Hall of Fame’s College Swimming Forum is a tremendous opportunity and experience for our student-athletes," pointed out Saints Head Swim Coach Allen Gilchrest. "Our teams will be swimming and competing against 60 other squads from all over the United States. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and learn from fellow athletes who share similar passions for athletics and academic success.”

While in Fort Lauderdale, the Limestone College swim teams will train each morning from 8-10 a.m. and each evening from 8-10 p.m. The Saints and Lady Saints will also get a chance to spend some time at the beach. On Saturday, January 5 the team will participate in a one-mile ocean swim (an ISHOF event) and on Sunday, January 6 the swimmers will participate in the Bob Mowerson Sprint Meet, against 60 other teams.

The teams will also participate in listening to guest speakers, attending corporate team meals, and receiving a tour of the ISHOF museum.

While in Florida, one male and one female swimmer will send a report of the days happenings, so keep an eye out for a daily press release about our teams experience at the swimming forum.
