LIMESTONE MEN’S SWIMMING GETS 138-64 WIN OVER CATAWBA; LADY SAINTS LOSE TO INDIANS 119-84 |
The Lady Saints’ 200 medley relay team consisting of Marija Grubic (Split, Croatia), Carmen Adams (Conway, S.C.), Jessi Sullivan (Lancaster, S.C.), and Renee Pouchet (Maraval, Trinidad & Tobago)came in first with a time of 1:15.64. Grubic won the 1000 free with a time of 11:25.62 and was second in the 100 free (55.71). Donna Wickham (Tacarigua, Trinidad & Tobago) took first in the 100 back with her time of 1:02.63 and was second in the 200 individual medley (2:23.17). Ines Speranda (Split, Croatia) took second in the 100 butterfly (1:04.14). Pouchet finished second in the 100 back (1:04.81). Adams swam the 500 free in 5:33.85 for second place. Limestone had several strong performances on the men’s side. Craig Jordens (Cape Town, South Africa) set a new school record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:44.73. Linvern Lim (Port Dickson, Malaysia) picked up an NCAA “B” cut time in the 100 butterfly (51.66), and Chad McKenzie (Durban, South Africa) recorded a “B” cut in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 58.64. Anders Melin (Karlstad, Sweden), McKenzie, Jordens, and Chris Harrigan (Greenville, S.C.) swam the 200 medley relay in 1;35.51 to take first place. The Saints’ 200 free relay team of Jordens, Harrigan, Goran Majlat (Split, Croatia), and Melin got the victory in the 200 free (1:25.78). Zeljko Karaman (Split, Croatia) won the 1000 free in 10:04.06. Jordens came in first in the 200 free (1:44.73) as Harrigan got a victory in the 50 free (22.02). Lim won the 100 backstroke in 51.66. Matt Parsonage (Durban, South Africa) had a time of 48.23 to come in first in the 100 free. Majlat won the 100 back (53.57). Ryan Mead (Lexington, S.C.) had the top time in the 500 free (5:10.56). Limestone heads to the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships on February 13-16 in Charlotte, N.C. |
