NO. 3 LIMESTONE REMAINS UNDEFEATED WITH 20-3 WIN OVER ST. ANDREWS

LAURINBURG, N.C.-- The No. 3 Saints lacrosse team remained undefeated with a 20-3 win against Conference Carolinas-foe St. Andrews on Saturday. Limestone climbs to 8-0 overall (4-0 league) as the Knights fall to 3-10 overall (2-1 league).

Eric Turner (Dublin, Ohio) scored a game-high four goals and added two assists for Limestone. Junior Brendan Storrier (LaFayette, N.Y.) scored three of the Saints first four goals including the first tally of both the first and second quarters. Storrier’s final goal to complete the hat trick was credited as the game-winner.

Limestone junior goalkeeper James Tuohy (Levittown, N.Y.) kept the Knights off the scoreboard for the first three quarters picking up the win in net. Tuohy did not allow a goal and made nine saves in 45 minutes of work.

Freshmen Ryan McNeeley (Gambrills, Md.) and Matt Wagner (Crownsville, Md.), along with junior Phil Hardy (Arnold, Md.) had the Knights' three goals.

The Saints, who led 3-0 after 15 minutes, maintained a 10-0 advantage at halftime with a seven-goal second quarter. Limestone netted five more goals in each of the last two quarters coasting to the 17-goal victory.

Limestone used a balanced scoring attack with 14 different goal scorers including four players scoring their first goals of the season. Freshman Pat Langan (Catonsville, Md.) totaled two goals while sophomore Michael Poerstal (Annapolis, Md.), senior Jay Tranello (Syracuse, N.Y.), senior Greg Kacinko (Alpharetta, Ga.), and sophomore Thomas Langan (Potomac, Md.), C.J. Ciaravino (Linden, Mich.) all registering one goal and one assist.

For the Knights, senior Alex Kalvin (Marietta, Ga.) and sophomore Aren Montgomery (San Antonio, Texas) both supplied one assist. Junior starting goalie Nate Hull (Millersville, Md.) and freshman backup Patrick Wade (West Windsor, N.J.) each had seven saves while letting up 10 goals apiece.

The Saints dominated face offs, winning 21-of-27 total including 11 wins by junior C.J. Ciaravino (Linden, Mich.). Limestone held a commanding 45-24 shot advantage while grabbing more ground balls, 49-33. The Saints were 3-for-6 on extra-man opportunities while SAPC was 0-for-6.
