NO. 4 LIMESTONE BEATS QUEENS 17-6

CHARLOTTE, N.C.— The No. 4-ranked Limestone College men’s lacrosse team defeated Conference Carolinas-rival Queens University 17-6 on Saturday afternoon. Limestone climbs to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the league as the Royals fall to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.

The Saints out-shot Queens 57-19, and also dominated ground balls, 41-24. Limestone won 16 of the game’s 27 faceoff attempts, and was 22-for-22 on clears. The Saints also converted on two of their six extra-man opportunities.

Nine Saints scored in the win. Justin Haworth (Deer Park, N.Y.) led Limestone with six goals and two assists. Brendan Storrier (LaFayette, N.Y.) scored three goals, while Jake Rogalia (Liverpool, N.Y.) scored twice. Brock Spilker (Pasadena, Md.), Allen Vaughn (Skaneateles, N.Y.), Eric Turner (Dublin, Ohio), Matt Pinder (Centreville, Md.), Teddy Prager (Seaford, N.Y.), and Thomas Langan (Potomac, Md.) also scored. Jason Brammall (Greensborough, Australia), Spilker, and Spencer Wims (Waltham, Mass.) recorded assists.

C.J. Ciaravino (Linden, Mich.) won 9 of his 15 faceoff attempts for the Saints while Jeff Hunter (Shoreham, N.Y.) was 7-for-12 in face-offs. Wims had a game-high eight ground balls. Goalie James Tuohy (Levittown, N.Y.) had nine saves.

Alex Warehime had two goals for Queens. Nick Mezzanotte, Louie Boyle, Alex Wesenberg, and Jack Jones also recorded assists. Garcia, Randy Jones, and Mezzanotte all had assists. Goalkeeper Mael Walkowiak had 20 saves during the contest.

Limestone hosts Adelphi on Saturday, March 8 at Saints Field in Gaffney, S.C., at 1 p.m.
