LIMESTONE GOLF IN 8TH AT AASU/SOUTHBRIDGE PIRATE INVITATIONAL |
SAVANNAH, Ga.—The Limestone College men’s golf team carded 305 in the opening round of the Armstrong Atlantic State University/Southbridge Pirate Invitational on Monday to end the day in eighth place. Craig Parris (Boiling Springs, S.C.) led the Saints with a score of 72 to end the day tied for seventh place. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6922-yard Southbridge Golf Club. Limestone’s Brad Williams (Elgin, S.C.) is tied for 24th after carding 76. Kyle Scruggs is tied for 32nd (78), Kyle Parker is tied for 41st (79), and Ben Ross (West Columbia, S.C.) is 54th (82). Buoyed by a pair of four-under-par 68 scores, the Clayton State Lakers shot a one-over-par 289 and hold a six stroke lead after Monday’s round. Clayton State’s Will Wilcox and Jonathan Visconti each carded the 68 scores to help the Lakers build a six-stroke advantage on Newberry (295), while Lander is in third place at 296.
