LIMESTONE FALLS TO PFEIFFER IN FIRST ROUND OF CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT |
Conference Carolinas tournament to eliminate the Saints from the playoffs. The Saints end their season with a 10-17 overall record while the Falcons improve to 21-7 on the season. Andre Coleman (Clermont, Fla.) scored a game-high 16 points for the Saints. Marques Williams (Rochester, N.Y.) scored 12 and had 6 boards. Andrae Franklin (Fort Pierce, Fla.) also had six rebounds and two blocks. Six Falcons reached double-scoring figures in the win. Jeff Pettiway and Quintel Maxwell scored 13 points apiece. Alvin Slaton, Logan Call, and Josh Roper each scored 11. Thomas Carr contributed 10 points. Pfeiffer had a narrow 38-35 lead at the half, and edged the Saints 48-45 in the second period for the win. There were 20 lead changes over the course of the contest. The Saints shot 66.7% from the field (32-48) and were 3-for-6 in free throws. Mount Olive shot 46.7% in field goals (28-60) and capitalized on 20 of its 27 free-throw attempts. Pfeiffer, seeded #2 in the tournament, will host #3 Queens on Thursday, March 6. |
