LIMESTONE MEN’S BASKETBALL LOSES TO BARTON 82-53 |
GAFFNEY, S.C.— The Limestone College men’s basketball team dropped a Conference Carolinas contest to the defending NCAA Division II National Champion, Barton College, on Saturday night at the Timken Center. Limestone falls to 5-15 overall (2-12 league) after the 82-53 loss, as Barton improves to 15-7 overall (11-4 conference). Limestone’s John Prioleau (Charleston, S.C.) recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. He was the only Saint to reach double scoring figures. L.J. Dunn (Raleigh, N.C.) led the Bulldogs with 14 points and posted 8 boards, as Brian Leggett (Alexandria, Va.) scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Bobby Buffaloe (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) also scored 12 points and recorded a game-high five assists. Barton held the lead for the entire contest, building up a 47-28 advantage at halftime, and outscoring Limestone 35-25 in the second period. The Bulldogs out-rebounded the Saints 41-21, and shot 53.3% (32-60) from the field, compared to Limestone’s 38.2% (21-15). The Saints host Erskine on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Timken Center in Gaffney, S.C. Barton hosts Belmont Abbey on Saturday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Wilson, N.C. |
