LIMESTONE LOSES TO COKER

HARTSVILLE, S.C.-- The Limestone College men's basketball team suffered an 83-53 loss to Conference Carolinas-rival Coker on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fall to 2-6 overall (0-3) as the Cobras rise to 4-6 for the season (2-2 conference).

The Cobras played a fast paced high powered offense from the very beginning, converting 22 Limestone turnovers into 20 points. Coker’s bench was very instrumental in the victory, with 50 points coming off the bench.

Coker shot 64% (32-50) from the field in the win, while the Saints were only 20-of-46 (43.5%). The Cobras had 36 points from long range as the Saints only scored 18 from behind the arc.

For the Saints, Marques Williams (Rochester, N.Y.) had 19 points, while Andrae Franklin (Fort Pierce, Fla.) had 11 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Coker was led by Lukas Varga (Pawleys Island, S.C.) with his 22 points off the bench, while Mason Ambler (Atlanta, Ga.), Stevie Evans (Columbia, S.C.) and Josh Poston (Myrtle Beach, SC) each scored 10 points for the Cobras. Ambler pulled down four rebounds, while Evans gave out five assists in the game.

Limestone hosts Anderson on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Timken Center.
