LIMESTONE BASEBALL GETS 10 COMMITTMENTS |
Limestone College Head Baseball Coach Chico Lombardo has announced his early commitments for the Class of 2008. The Saints received commitments from 10 athletes: Britt Alexander, Dwayne Addy, Michael DeMarzi, Aaron Johnson, Connor Kicheloe, Mitch Lehman, Dean McCombs, Evan Schafer, Will Taylor, and T.J. Waldrop. “We have gotten a good start for 2008 in adding these young men,” said Lombardo. “Each exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. Our staff is excited to have each of the young men join our family and look forward to having them competing for us next fall.” Britt Alexander, INF, Daniel High School “Britt has the ability to play multiple positions in the infield and runs well,” pointed out Lombardo. “He has the ability to become a standout player for us.” Dwayne Addy, OF, Blythewood High School “Dwayne has the ability to hit the baseball to all fields and will develop into a quality player in our outfield,” Lombardo said. “We look forward to working with him over the next four years.” Michael DeMarzi, OF, Huntington High School Aaron Johnson, LHP, North Iredell High School “Aaron has a live arm, and good command of 3 pitches from the left side,” commented Lombardo. “We are excited to see him develop and have a solid career over the next four years here at Limestone.” Connor Kicheloe, LHP, Flint High School “Connor is another quality arm, and we welcome his ability to command the strike zone. He will be a tough match up with his ability to change speeds and pound the zone,” Lombardo said. Mitch Lehman, C, Riverside High School “Mitchell will add depth behind the plate for us. He has a strong arm behind the plate and will only get better,” stated Lombardo. Dean McCombs, OF, Wren High School “Dean has the tools to be successful,” Lombardo pointed out. “He possesses a strong throwing arm, runs well, and has a solid approach at the plate. I look forward to seeing him over the next few years.” “Evan has command of three pitches, and with time will only improve. He’s a welcome addition to our pitching staff,” Lombardo said. Will Taylor, RHP, Ridge View High School “Will has tremendous upside,” Lombardo stated. “He has a strong arm, and will only get better for us on the mound. He will see mound time, and I am excited to have Will join our program.” T.J. Waldrop, LHP, Chapman High School “T.J. brings a tough mental approach to the mound, along with a plus curveball and change up. He is a solid addition to our staff and will see some innings,” said Lombardo. |
