LIMESTONE BASEBALL OPENS 20TH SEASON ON SATURDAY AGAINST LYNCHBURG COLLEGE |
Members of the 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991 teams will be in attendance on Saturday to celebrate the team’s 20th season of competition. Limestone College Hall of Fame member and National Baseball League Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry will also be there. He was the first coach in the history of Saints’ baseball and was responsible for organizing the team from the beginning. The Saints will also recognize former pitcher Jack Perry as part of the 20th anniversary ceremony on February 2 as they retire Perry’s #35 jersey. A replica of the framed jersey will be on permanent display on the back of the third base and home dugout. |

GAFFNEY, S.C.—The Limestone College baseball team will open its 20th season on Saturday at Bob Prevatte Field against Lynchburg College at 1 p.m. There will be a ceremony before Saturday’s game to recognize the founding members of Limestone’s baseball program at 12:45 p.m. The Saints baseball program first took to the field in 1988.
