| LIMESTONE MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TAKES 10TH AT EYE OPENER; WOMEN TAKE 9TH |
SPARTANBURG, S.C.—The Limestone College men’s cross country team took 10th out of 17 teams at the Eye Opener on Saturday morning. The Lady Saints finished ninth in the 22-team field. “Both teams really stepped it up today,” said Saints Head Coach Kevin Vees. “The younger guys really ran hard and the women had their best meet in program history today.” Lady Saints Molly Reichwald (Atlanta, Ga.) finished 25th in the 167-runner field with a time of 20:38. Alex Bonn (Marysville, Wash.) was 40th, Lauren Barker (Summerville, S.C.) was 59th, Jonelle Jackson took 67th, Melissa Riesett (Annapolis, Md.) was 69th, Kelly Davidson (Kingston, Tenn.) was 94th, and Heather Nicholson (Union, S.C.) was 130th. Milligan was first in the women’s race, followed by Lees-McRae. Wingate finished third, Lenoir-Rhyne was fourth, and Carson-Newman was fifth. Matt Conant (Norwich, N.Y.) was Limestone’s top finisher on the men’s side as he took ninth with a time of 27:10. Bob Anderson (Erie, Pa.) was 65th, Tres Valentino (Bluffton, S.C.) was 97th, Matt Hall (Hamptonville, N.C.) finished 111th, and Curtis Morrison (Shelby, N.C.) was 122nd. There were 177 runners in the men’s field. Anderson took first in the men’s event, and Lenoir-Rhyne was second. Spartanburg Methodist was third, St. Andrews was fourth, and Lees-McRae was fifth. The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, September 15 at the Wingate Invitational in Wingate, N.C.
