BELMONT ABBEY KNOCKS OFF LADY SAINTS

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.-- The Limestone College Lady Saints were knocked out of the Conference Carolinas women's soccer tournament by Belmont Abbey as the Crusaders won 2-0. The Lady Saints stand at 7-9-4 overall as the Abbey climbs to 18-4.

Limestone held off Belmont Abbey's attack in the first half as they only allowed two shots on goal. The Crusaders recorded their first goal off a 15-yard shot in the 66th minute. They scored their second goal off a corner kick just minutes later.

The Abbey had a 9-4 advantage on shots and edged Limestone 3-2 on corner kicks.

Brittany Clark (York, S.C.) had two saves for Limestone as Anna Wells had two for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders advance to the tournament finals to face Queens at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The 2007 Conference Carolinas soccer tournaments are hosted by Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, N.C.
