LADY SAINTS LOSE TO BELMONT ABBEY

BELMONT, N.C.-- Lady Saint Alexis Brothers (Charleston, S.C.) scored Limestone College's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Conference Carolinas-rival Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Saints fall to 2-2-1 in conference play (3-6-1 overall), as the Lady Crusaders climb to 3-0 in the conference and 7-4 overall. Belmont Abbey scored twice in the first half and twice in the second period.

Two of the Crusaders goals were results of penalty kicks. Brothers scored with only 1:12 left to play in the game for the 4-1 result. The Abbey had a 9-4 advantage on shots and a 2-0 edge on corner kicks.

Limestone goalkeeper Brittany Clark (York, S.C.) had three saves for the Lady Saints as Diane Boyce (Toccoa, Ga.) recorded one. Belmont Abbey's Anna Donaldson had two saves. Limestone travels to Laurinburg, N.C., to face St. Andrews on Saturday, September 29 at 2 p.m.
