PFEIFFER TOPS LIMESTONE 2-0

GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team picked up its first Conference Carolinas win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Limestone College on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field. The Lady Saints fall to 1-5 overall (0-1 Conference Carolinas) as Pfeiffer improves to 2-4 (1-0 conference).

Limestone had a couple of good scoring chances late in the first half, but couldn't find the back of the net to score.

In the second half, Madison Kerth (Damascus, Md.) scored for the Falcons in the 50th minute off a pass from Kirsten Bartsch (Leesburg, Va.) Megan Reaves (Mims, Fla.) gave Pfeiffer the 2-0 win in the 79th minute as Bartsch and Angela Reale (Gypsum, Colo.) got the assists.

Pfeiffer had a narrow 14-11 advantage on shots and a 7-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Lady Saint Brittany Clark (York, S.C.) had seven saves for the match while Suzie Hindman (Idaho Falls, Idaho) had five for the Falcons.

Limestone travels to Charlotte, N.C., to face conference-rival Queens at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11.
