NORTH GEORGIA COLLEGE & STATE UNIVERSITY HANDS LIMESTONE 2-0 LOSS

GAINESVILLE, Ga.—The North Georgia College & State University women’s soccer team defeated Limestone College 2-0 on Wednesday night at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex. Limestone falls to 0-3 as North Georgia College & State University improves to 2-0.

After a scoreless first half, NGCSU scored the first goal in the 59th minute as Laura Nunnery notched her first goal of the season. Katie Turner was credited with the assist. Lauren Schenk scored the hosts’ next point in the 58th minute off a corner kick by Casey Smith.

NGCSU held a 28-2 advantage on shots for the match. Limestone goalkeeper Diane Boyce (Toccoa, Ga.) had eight saves while Brittany Clark (York, S.C.) had six. NGCSU’s keeper recorded two saves.

Limestone returns to Gaffney on Saturday as the Lady Saints host UNC-Pembroke at 2 p.m. at Saints Field.
