LADY SAINTS SOCCER GETS 7 COMMITMENTS |
GAFFNEY, S.C.— Limestone College Head Women’s Soccer Coach Tina Weaver has announced the addition of seven of players to the Lady Saints roster. Shireen Bradford (Aberdeen, Scotland), Madi Dulisse (Burlington, Wisc.), Meredith Wingerson (Salisbury, N.C.), Barclay Drum (Union, S.C.), Diane Boyce (Toccoa, Ga.), Annie Polhamus (Fitzgerald, Ga.), and Katariina Lyytikäinen (Espoo, Finland) will join Limestone next season. Shireen Bradford comes to Limestone from Aberdeen, Scotland were she was the team captain for the Aberdeen University soccer squad. She also played for the Aberdeen Ladies Football Club. Her father is Colin Bradford. She plans to major in athletic training. “Shireen is a skilled player with great experience,” said Weaver. “Her playing time with an elite club in Scotland will give our team more creativity in the midfield.” Madi Dulisse was a three-year starter at Burlington High School in Wisconsin and a two-year starter with the Racine Soccer Club. She earned All-Conference honors on multiple occasions and was her team’s Offensive MVP as a junior. She was named squad captain as a senior. She is the daughter of Nick Dulisse and plans to study criminal justice. “Madi has tons of energy that she brings to the field,” Weaver said. “She’ll bring speed and agility at the forward or midfield position.” Barclay Drum started in every game as a defender during her four-year varsity career at Union High School. She was named All-Region four times and was named to the Pepsi Quad County All-Tournament team twice. Her parents are Terry and Diane Drum. She will major in education. “Barclay plays smart in the back and will provide more depth in our defensive position,” said Weaver. Diane Boyce joins Limestone’s goalkeeping lineup. She had a very successful careers with Stephens County High School and with the Oneida FC. Boyce earned All-Conference honors three times, and helped the Indians to the 2005 and 2006 regional championship. She is the daughter of Kevin and Rachalle Boyce and will study English at Limestone. “Diane is a strong goalkeeper,” Weaver commented. “She has great skills and will compete for playing time next year." Annie Polhamus is a transfer from Darton College in Georgia. While playing for Head Coach Lee Dursett, Polhamus helped the team to a 2005 record of 25-0-1 and a runner-up finish at the JUCO national championship. She was ranked 13th in points in the state last season. Polhamus was a scholar athlete at Fitzgerald High School and was the leading scorer on the squad from 2001-2005. She was a recipient of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Athletic Award. Her parents are Deborah and Charles Polhamus. She will major in sports management at Limestone. “Annie is a fighter,” Weaver pointed out. “She will add depth to the forward position and she has a strong work ethic.” Meredith Wingerson played for Head Coach Matt Parrish at Salisbury High School in North Carolina. She was the team’s Most Improved Player as a sophomore. She earned All-County and team Defensive MVP honors as a junior, and was a squad captain her senior season. She is the daughter of Judy and Ray Wingerson and is undecided about her major. “Meredith is a solid player,” commented Weaver. “She is a strong performer both on the field and in the classroom.” Katariina Lyytikäinen attended Etela-Tapiola High School in Finland. Last season, she was the team captain for her Finnish Premier League squad while playing as a defender. “Katariina will bring great experience and composure to the back line,” Weaver said. “She will also add depth to our defensive line.” |
