MOSS COMPETES AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND

Limestone College heavyweight Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C.) travels to Kearney, Neb., this weekend to compete at the NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championship hosted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Moss is the third wrestler in the Saints’ program’s three-year history to advance to the national championship.

Moss boasts an impressive 26-13 record heading into this weekend. He will face No. 5-ranked Jose Navarro of Indianapolis in the opening match of the tournament on Friday.

The brackets for the tournament were done by a random draw pitting a regional winner against a fourth-place regional finisher and a regional runner up versus a third place finisher in the region. National rankings did not affect the pairings.

The Saints have had one representative at the national championship since the first year of the program during the 2004-05 season. John Richard took seventh at the 2005 championship to become Limestone’s first All-American, and Brent Clausing, who is redshirting this season, lost in the quarterfinals of the 2006 competition.
