BYRNES AND EAST SIDE TO FACE OFF AT LIMESTONE’S TIMKEN CENTER ON WEDNESDAY; LIMESTONE MATCH VS. ANDERSON TO FOLLOW

GAFFNEY, S.C.— Byrnes High School, one of the best wrestling teams in the state of South Carolina,  will face East Side High School at the Timken Center on the campus of Limestone College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24. Limestone’s match against Anderson will follow at 7 p.m.

Byrnes recently won its fourth consecutive Spartanburg county championship on Saturday at McCracken Junior High School.

Limestone has been a strong contender this season, getting wins over St. Andrews, King College, and American International College. Limestone had a strong showing at the Midwest Invitational earlier this month as Dan Scanlan (Leesburg, Va.), finished third in the 184-pound weight class and heavyweight Trey Moss (Red Bank, S.C.) was fourth in the 285-pound division. In November, Scanlan also took home the title in his weight class at the Pembroke Classic and the Citadel Open Tourney. He has only lost two matches so far this season.
