NO. 4 LIMESTONE DEFEATS MOLLOY 19-6

GAFFNEY, S.C.- The No. 4 Limestone Lady Saints defeated Molloy 19-6 in women’s lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field. Limestone improves to 3-0 for the season as Molloy drops to 0-5 overall.

Shea Farrell (Blue Point, N.Y.) led Limestone with four goals. Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) and Marissa Pesce (West Babylon, N.Y.) each scored three. Terri George (Jordan, N.Y.) and Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.) had two goals each. Melissa Howard (Ferndale, Md.), Katie Ilott (Brooklin, Ontario, Canada), Aricka Piersma (Columbia, S.C.), Kelly Oterson (Islip Terrace, N.Y.), and Renee Albro (Purcellville, Va.) scored a goal a piece.

Howard also tallied five assists in the win, as Wise had three. George had two assists and Jessica Green (Rehoboth Beach, Del.) and Ilott dished out one.

Farrell had four caused turnovers during the contest, while Howard and George each had three ground balls.

Molloy’s Rebecca LaFlare had three goals, Kristina Wargo had two, and Lori Sollitto scored one. Lions goalkeeper Alicia Frisch had eight saves during the first half, while Carmen Sanfilippo had four in the second period.

Limestone outshot the visitor 44-13 during the contest, and had 21 groundballs to the Lions’ 17. The Lady Saints won 18 of 24 draw controls and were 3-for-7 on free-position attempts.

The Lady Saints hosts CVAC-foe Belmont Abbey on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Saints Field.
