LADY SAINTS LACROSSE RATED NO. 5 IN PRE-SEASON POLL

The Limestone Lady Saints lacrosse team is ranked No. 5 in the 2007 Pre-Season National Poll released by Lacrosse magazine on Wednesday.   

Defending NCAA Division II national champion Adelphi was selected No. 2, while C.W. Post earned the top spot in the rankings. Stonehill and West Chester round out the top four.

Limestone’s 2006 season ended with an impressive 16-4 overall record and a No. 6 national ranking. Limestone has won three consecutive regular season Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference championships (2004, 2005 and 2006).  The squad won the 2006 CVAC tournament title and has made two appearances in the NCAA tournament semifinal (2004 and 2006).

Limestone will face three ranked opponents in 2006: No. 6 Lock Haven, No. 7 Gannon, and No. 8 Queens.

The ratings are compiled by Lacrosse magazine staff with consultations from coaches.
