CLAYTON NAMED CONFERENCE CAROLINAS GOLFER OF THE MONTH

Thomasville, N.C.-- Limestone College’s Katie Clayton has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's golf Player of the Month for the month of October in the 2007-08 season. The senior from Lyman, S.C., started the month by winning the Tusculum Fall Classic on October 2 and helped Limestone to a fourth place finish.

Clayton followed that up by carding a two-day score of 148 for the Lady Saints who finished tenth at the Lenoir-Rhyne/Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on October 9. Her 73-75 scores tied University of Montevallo's Morgan Bell for first place at the conclusion of the tournament, before Bell walked away with playoff medalist honors.

For the month, Clayton recorded two top five finishes and averaged a 74.5 stroke average. She now has three top ten finishes on the year.
