WINONA STATE BEATS LIMESTONE IN OVERTIME

ORLANDO, Fla.— Limestone College lost a close game against Winona State in women’s basketball action on Sunday night at the Disney Tip-Off Classic, 71-57. The Lady Saints’ record is now 0-3 for the season. Limestone’s Essence Greer (Washington, D.C.) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Monica Adams (Kings Mountain, N.C.) led Limestone in scoring with 15 points. She also had seven boards. Greer recorded 10 rebounds. Tiffany Jones (Greer, S.C.) dished out four assists as Blanca Gonzalez (Chicago, Ill.) and Breanna Ray (Spartanburg, S.C.) both had four steals.

Limestone led the Warriors 27-25 at halftime, but Winona State had the scoring edge in the second half, 29-27, to send the game into overtime. The Warriors outscored the Lady Saints 17-3 in the extra minutes for the 71-57 win.

Limestone travels to Tigerville, S.C., on Thursday, November 15 to face North Greenville at 5:30 p.m.
