BURDETT COMING TO LIMESTONE

GAFFNEY, S.C.—  Limestone College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Corey Fox has announced that guard Tierney Burdett has committed to play for the Lady Saints in the upcoming 2007-08 season. Burdett, a native of Peoria, Ill., comes to Limestone from Illinois Central College where she spent her freshman and sophomore seasons.

“Tierney comes from a very good program,” commented Fox. “She knows how to win after playing on Steve Garber’s 2006 national championship team. She is a versatile athlete that can play at multiple positions and is an excellent shooting guard. We can count on her to put the ball in the basket. I’m looking forward to coaching Tierney the next two seasons.”

Burdett helped her Illinois Central College team to the 2006 JUCO National Championship. She played high school ball at Brimfield High School where she was a four-year varsity starter and a two-year team captain. She earned First team All-Conference, Peoria Journal Star All-Area, and IBCA All-State honors. Burdett helped Brimfield to four conference and regional championships. She holds the school record for career assists and points.

She also earned numerous accolades competing with Brimfield High School’s track and volleyball teams.

Burdett plans to study business at the College. Her parents are Kerry and Tanda Burdett.
