LADY SAINTS SEASON ENDS WITH 89-63 LOSS TO BARTON |
WILSON, N.C.— The Barton College Lady Bulldogs ended the Limestone women’s basketball team’s season with an 89-63 victory on Wednesday night. Barton advances to the CVAC semifinals with a 21-6 overall record, while Limestone’s record stands at 10-19. Lindsay Kyle (Springfield, Va.) led Limestone with 15 points, while Monica Adams (Kings Mountain, N.C.) scored 12. Ariel Lyons (Brandon, Fla.) had a game-high seven rebounds. Esty Flores scored 18 points for Barton, as Kendra Thomas added 16, Veronica Jones had 15, and Jo Denevan scored 10. The Lady Saints battled hard in the first half, and their efforts paid off as the squad entered halftime with a 35-34 lead. Barton started to pull away with the lead in the opening minutes of the second period and outscored Limestone 55-28 for the victory. The semifinals and final of the CVAC conference tournament are hosted by Pfeiffer University at Merner Gymnasium in Misenheimer, N.C. |
