LADY SAINTS LOSE TO NO. 21 ANDERSON |
ANDERSON, S.C.— The No. 21-ranked Anderson University Lady Trojans defeated Limestone College 79-61 in women’s basketball action on Thursday night at the Abney Center. Anderson improves to 15-5 in the CVAC (21-5 overall) as Limestone falls to 8-11 in conference play (9-17 overall). Lindsay Kyle (Springfield, Va.) had 17 points and seven boards for Limestone, while Tiffany Jones (Greer, S.C.) scored 14 points. Anderson’s Deidra Langston scored 29 points while making 11 of 14 free throws. Keana Boyd scored 15 points and dished out nine assists. Latrice Thomas had nine boards for the Trojans. The Lady Trojans led 42-31 at the half and outscored Limestone 37-30 in the second period for the win. Anderson had 21 points from free throws compared to the Lady Saints’ 12. Anderson narrowly out-rebounded the visitors 35-32. The Trojans were 44.8% from the field (26-58) and 87.5% from the free throw line (21-24) for the contest. Limestone was 22-of-50 in field goals (44%) and 12-of-19 in free throws (63.2%). Limestone travels to Wilson, N.C., to play Barton College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. |
