LADY SAINTS BASKETBALL LOSES TO PFEIFFER

MISENHEIMER, N.C.— Despite taking at early lead, the Lady Saints basketball team suffered a 91-60 loss to Pfeiffer University on Thursday night at Merner Gymnasium. Limestone falls to 5-8 in Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference play (6-14 overall), while Pfeiffer improves to 12-2 in the CVAC (17-4).

Tiffany Jones (Greer, S.C.) was Limestone’s only player to score in double figures as she recorded 14 points during the contest. She also had a team-high four assists. Monica Adams (Kings Mountain, N.C.) led the squad with seven rebounds, while Lindsey Kyle (Springfield, Va.) and Ariel Lyons (Brandon, Fla.) each had six boards.

The Lady Saints took an early lead in the first half, and were leading by eight points (25-17) with 4:32 left in the period. However, the Falcons went on a 12-point run to take the 29-25 lead at the half.

Pfeiffer dominated the second period, outscoring the Lady Saints 62-52.

Each team had 39 rebounds, with Pfeiffer getting 15 second chance points compared to Limestone’s three.

Turnovers were a huge factor in the game’s outcome, as Pfeiffer converted 43 points from 32 Limestone turnovers. The Falcons only turned the ball over 14 times during the game as the Lady Saints scored 11 points from the home team’s errors.

Limestone travels to Charlotte, N.C., to play Queens on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The game will take place at the Grady Cole Center. Cost of admission is $4 for students and $5 for general admission.
