LADY SAINTS PICK UP ROAD WIN OVER ERSKINE, 73-52
Three Saints totaled double figures led by Lindsay Kyle’s 15

 

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Lady Saints basketball team picked up a 73-52 road win over Erskine College Tuesday night. With the win, the Saints jump to 3-3 in the conference, 8-8 overall. Erskine falls to 1-10 on the season, 1-5 in league play.

Lindsey Kyle (Springfield, Va.) led all scorers with 15 points, and Monica Adams (Kings Mountain, N.C.) added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, 9 on the offensive end. Freshman, Breanna Ray (Spartanburg, S.C.) had a career high 13 points to round out the Saints top scorers. Kyle also grabbed 7 rebounds for the Saints. Essence Greer (Washington, D.C.) added a solid 8 points and 7 rebounds.

The Fleet were led by junior Karen Anger who posted 11 points and pulled down 4 rebounds for Erskine.

Limestone entered halftime with a 40-27 lead over the Fleet. Limestone maintained its lead in the second half to take a 73-52 win. Limestone shot 45.5% (21-42) from the field and 82.6% from the free throw line on the night.

“Breanna Ray was our spark in the second half,” said Head Coach Cory Fox. “She picked up a couple of steals and a converted on a few fast break chances to put the game out of reach for Erskine.” “Monica Adams was a real force in the middle tonight, dominating the offensive glass and converting on some key put-backs.

The Lady Saint’s host Mount Olive College on Saturday in the Timken Center for a 5:30 tip off.
